Remote Safety Service Course

H2S Alive Course

Overview: This one-day course is intended for all workers in the petroleum industry who could or be exposed to hydrogen sulphide (H2S), also known as sour gas. This course is required for people who work in the field in the oil industry.

Prerequisites: None.

Description: Each student is required to operate in class:

  • Self-contained breathing apparatus
  • A detector tube device
  • Perform rescue breathing on a mannequin

The following items are covered in this H2S Alive class:

  • The physical properties and health hazards of H2S
  • How to protect oneself
  • Basic rescue techniques

Certification: Upon successful completion of this program you will have earn an industry standard certificate, valid for three years.
